Granted, it’s way easier to pack light during warm weather trips than it is for colder destinations. But this time around, I took a more simplified approach to my packing. I decided I wasn’t going to try and jam pack a million outfits and try to shoot them all on our vacation (something I’ve had a tendency to do in the past, which tends to drive James nuts). So for this trip, I relied on easy dresses like this white ladder trim dress, this navy tie-front dress and this striped off the shoulder dress. I lived in these cutoff denim shorts which you saw in yesterday’s post and rotated through different tops like this blush crop top, this ribbed swing tank and my favorite cactus shirt. I also only packed these sandals (very comfy!), a pair of white sneakers and simple flip flops for the beach. I even forgot to bring accessories – that’s how much of a minimal mindset I was in when planning our Australia trip!
I’ll have to admit, as a serial overpacker, it felt pretty liberating to have limited options available while on vacation. I’m the kind of person that looks in my closet every morning and feels like I have nothing to wear, but really I’m just feeling overwhelmed by options (decision paralysis – it’s a thing!). Instead, thoughtfully planning out exactly what I was going to pack made my decision making process much easier and allowed me to enjoy my vacation even more.
