A Timeless Kind of Timepiece

In world of digital gadgets and online everything, I’m starting to realize that less is more.

Not only that, but what’s old is new and what’s classic – well, they’ll always be classic. So when I was recently introduced to Hamilton Watches, it was pretty much love at first sight. I saw the thin leather strap watch in the photos above and I knew it needed to be in my life (and on my wrist!). It also reinforced the mindset that I’ve recently adopted over the past few months that less really is more. And just like that, I decided that I wouldn’t mind trading entire my heavy, chunky arm party for one simple, yet timeless piece.

Hamilton is a new-to-me watch brand that has major American roots beautifully constructed with Swiss quality. I recently got to check out a few of their new styles at the Gansevoort Hotel before they ship off to the Baselworld Fair in Switzerland (um hi, #travelgoals). My heart was set on the more delicate piece in the first two photos, but they actually had a lot of drool-worthy watches for both men and women. How sleek does the black watch look? It’s like straight out of a movie.

Which, by the way, Hamilton does have major ties to both the movie and aviation industries. The brand heritage dates back all the way to the early 1900’s, when the pilots of the first US airmail service between Washington and New York wore Hamilton watches. These days, the watches have been worn in hundreds of movies, including Interstellar, The Martian and – my personal favorite – Legally Blonde. I guess I need to start paying more attention to what’s on every actors’ wrists in all of movies.

Bottom line: every day, I’m discovering my love for all classic everything – whether it’s more shades of neutral in my wardrobe, more minimalistic pieces in my home or something forever timeless on my wrist.
