Winter 2016 Essentials

Plaid Coat / Ear Muffs / Backpack / Ponte Leggings / Ankle Boots / Mittens / Pom Pom Beanie
Plaid Scarf / Packable Rain Boots / Oversized Sweater / Crossbody Bag

It’s hard to believe that winter is actually here, considering how warm it was in December. I was running around with bare legs up until I left for the West Coast for Christmas, but now I think Mother Nature has restored order in the world and we can finally break out the heavy duty gear.

Truth be told, I could live without puffer coats and tights, but I’m in love with cold weather accessories, like these ear muffs (only $30) and this mitten/glove hybrid (only $35). I actually have this pom pom beanie in olive and grey – my full confession/love affair coming to the blog later this week!

As for outerwear, I usually invest in one new coat per year. If you don’t count this plaid sweater jacket that I’ve worn on Instagram (it’s a little too lightweight to be considered a coat), this year’s addition is the J.Crew cocoon coat in camel. While I’ve been gravitating toward classic cuts and colors lately, I do love a good statement coat (I have one in red and one in leopard).

And as for the rest my winter wardrobe, you better believe that I’ll be living in oversized sweaters and ponte leggings (this pair from Lou & Grey is equal parts thick and cozy). Hope you’re staying warm this winter!
