It might not feel like it’s mid-December in NYC right now, but it sure does look like it.

James and I continued our adventures in Midtown Manhattan over the weekend (see last week’s visit to the Lotte Palace Hotel here). This neck of the woods is always decked out for the holidays. Between the tree at Rock Center to the shops on Fifth Avenue, be prepared for major swooning and major crowds!

Luckily, we found a quiet little walkway on 58th Street and 5th Avenue with the most epic candy cane lights. The an energy in this area like no other. Buildings are covered in larger-than-life decor and the streets are buzzing with the holiday spirit. So why not pull together an outfit to match?

I love this red midi-length dress from Chicwish. It’s the perfect piece for a formal affair (think winter weddings, holiday parties and galas!). I love it with a pair of silver pumps and a leopard clutch, and when the temps do decide to finally drop, I imagine throwing a faux fur stole over it for an elevated look.

For reference, I’m 5’2″ and the hem hits the lower part of my calf, just where a normal midi skirt would. If you’re on the shorter side like me, you can totally still rock this dress length (see more options here). Make sure you pair with pumps that elongate the little area of leg that does show (strappy heels tend to cut off your leg line).

  7. I’m not short but that’s a good tip that straps cut off your leg line! Love this one you, and I also have been LOVING the weather we’ve been having around here lately!
