What I’m excited most about Christmas (besides wearing red and green everything) is the idea of being home for the holidays.
James and I shot this look a few weeks ago for my 2015 Holiday Gift Guide (click through for 100+ gift guides for everyone on your list!). We were back in Arizona (our home state) and spent Thanksgiving with both of our families together for the first time since our wedding. For Christmas, we’re heading to San Diego, where my parents live now. It’s not quite the same as home, but I’m excited to hang out with mom and dad, in some cozy PJs and a whole lotta sunshine.
And even though the chances of having a white Christmas in California is slim to none, that won’t stop me from dressing for the season. It doesn’t get much more festive than red and green plaid. This plaid skirt is already sold out (umm, who is snatching up all the perfect holiday outfits already??), it comes in a red/black checkered print which might have a little more longevity. I also rounded up some of my favorite Christmas skirts below – better scoop them up fast if you want one in time for the holidays!
