I recently wore this cami and this midi skirt to work and while I could live in an easy outfit like this year-round, I think Mother Nature is starting to disagree. With much chillier temps around these parts, soft sweaters and chunky knits are calling my name … except I’m not ready to give into piling on the layers just yet. Until then, I’m taking the middle ground and balancing a lightness of my top with a little more coverage of a full midi skirt. That’s a compromise I can get behind.

Yesterday’s outfit marked the first sweater of the season. I tried to resist for as long as I could, but there’s just no denying it: it’s cold outside. The first major drop in degrees is always the hardest and all the sudden, I find myself wanting to buy every sweater in sight. On the top of my list this season: chunky knits like this funnel neck number or this textured topper. If I have to start bundling up, it’s going to be in one of these. Just add a pair of ripped skinnies or a pencil skirt and it’s easily a work or weekend look worth staying warm in.

It’s somehow Monday again and I need all of the coffee. This weekend went by much too quickly, what with the shorter days and now the pre-winter chill that has just officially rolled in. Up until yesterday, I could still get away wearing a simple cami or a short-sleeve tee outside but now sweater weather is here and I don’t think it’s leaving anytime soon.

So let’s have fun with it before we’re all condemned to bundle up in bulk. I love the idea of a light crewneck sweater over a floral pencil skirt. It’s cozy enough to survive a dip in degrees, but still refined enough for the office. An outfit that’s weather and work appropriate? Count me in.
