A Sneaking Suspicion

Black & Gold Tweed Shorts

Real talk: I loved getting dressed up for NYFW, but was already ready to kick my heels to the curb by the end of the third day.  After a day of meetings and showroom visits, I decided to give my feet a break and threw on a pair of gold snake-print slip-on sneakers.  I mean, if you’re gonna go casual for fashion week, it better be cool.

Black & Gold Outfit

I wore this look to the French Connection holiday launch party in SoHo.  Normally, I wouldn’t reach for pearls and tweed for a night on the town, but a little red lip and some slip-on sneakers took this outfit from uptown to downtown just like that.  And as for the rest of my NYFW in heels?  I had a sneaking suspicion that didn’t last very long (see what I did there?).

Heels would definitely looks great with this, but I kind of love the sneakers! A bit more practical for when you don’t want your feet to be screaming at you (or when they already are).

Oohh love this downtown look. Edgy but still true to your ladylike ways. I need to remember this for myself. I have such a hard time marrying those two styles. Very nice!
