On the Up and Up

Jewel Toned Floral Skirt

There are two ways I usually wear my hair: pin-straight or in a loose curl.  As nuts as this might seem, I have never ever worn my hair up on the blog before and I rarely wear it up in real life (with the exception of the gym).  So when the team from The Stylisted swung by an NYFW pre-party hosted by Krista for hair and makeup, I figured: no time like the present (which is my grownup way of saying YOLO).

Emerald Spaghetti Strap Top & Gold Floral Skirt

So we indulged in mimosas (lots of them) and hairspray (lots of it) before heading over to the RewardStyle Party on the rooftop of Empire Hotel.  I decided on a messy low bun full of braids and enough volume to make my baby Bump-It (circa 2008) jealous.  It was the perfect updo to match my jewel-toned cami and floral pencil skirt, making for the kind of look that you wouldn’t expect had one too many cocktails all weekend long.  Cheers friends!

  4. I don’t know if I’m impressed or disappointed that you always wear your hair down! I like how my hair looks down, but it takes a lot of time and effort to get it how I like it, so I only do it about half the time. But YOU young lady look great with your hair pulled back…you should do it more often!

  10. Your hair looks amazing! I love pulling my hair up in different styles (even thought I’m not very good at styling it). I just got it cut into a lob on monday, so I’m going to miss pulling it up like this!

  13. Stunning ensemble. Others would have possibly styled it to be over the top sexy but you kept it simple, classic with ladylike sophistication. You look gorgeous! The color are so saturated they just leap off my screen.

  16. This loo is so effortlessly elegant. I love the printed skirt. The tank adds a simply softness, and the bracelets give it a hint of sophistication on top. And OMG I MUST HAVE YOUR PURPLE CLUTCH…TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!!!
