This week, I …

· Finally bought myself a pair of mirrored aviators.  It was a toss up between the green and blue lenses (although I would love to see someone in a pair of the red lenses!).  Which ones do you think I scooped up?

· Also bought my very first bucket bag!  I’m obviously not ready to invest a ton of money into the shape, so I’m loving affordable options number one, two and three.

· Disagree with this article that the golden era of blogging is dead.  Yes, it’s a lot tougher to start a blog these days, but it’s still an amazing community to be a part of.  What are your thoughts on the state of blogging?

· Plan on hitting up the C. Wonder Friends & Family Sale!  Take 30% off full price and an additional 50% off sale items.  I need need need this little striped dress!

· Am obsessively pinning away on my home decor Pinterest board.  I’m fully committed to decorate the apartment this spring/summer … soo any of my lifestyle blogger friends want to come over and play interior designer?

· Love the floral prints going on at Ann Taylor.  Need this dress, this dress and these pants in my life.  The best part?  Taking 50% off your entire purchase this weekend!

· Just can’t get enough of midi skirts this season.  See how I wore mine in red, berry and green.

· Am prepping for a tropical vacation in May.  On the top of my packing list: a panama hat, a straw market tote and a pair of strappy sandals.

· Wish my little puppy love a very happy birthday!  He turns five this week!

· Added a running list of sales in the right hand section of my site, which you can check for daily updates!  Otherwise, you can shop this weekend’s sales below:

I Wish You Were HereTwo weeks ago, I took a quick trip to Texas to visit one of my best friends.  It was the first time that I had ever been to either San Antonio or Austin … so I really had no idea what to expect.

San Antonio River WalkWell surprise!  I loved them both.  San Antonio reminded me a lot of Tucson, except greener, prettier and more hipster (all qualities that I love).  My favorite part: the gorgeous river walk that weaved through the city — it obviously made for the best outfit photo backdrops (#alwaysablogger).  I also fell in love with a coffee shop in Southtown and came back every day for their cold brew.  Love me some hipster coffee!

Austin, TXOn Saturday, we took a day trip to the state capital … actually, is it sad that I had totally forgotten that Austin was the capital of Texas?  Oops.  Shoutout to all my past social studies/geographic teachers!La Barbecue Hot Sausage Sandwich

First on the agenda: EAT BBQ.  Mouthwatering food sold out of a trailer?  I’m there.  Except, little did I know how seriously Austin takes its meat.  We leisurely strolled up to the first barbecue joint around 1:00 PM only to find it completely sold out of food.  The place was completely desolate.  We ended finding a nearby trailer where the only meat they had left was hot sausages.  So sad we missed out on ribs and brisket, but it was still delicious.  Good grief, Texas.  Don’t you know that 11:00 AM is too early for a giant pile of meat?!South Congress in AustinPost-cholesterol spike, we headed down South Congress where the neighborhood was bursting with character.  We passed by this house, where you can write down the one thing you want to do before you die.  I want to travel the world … someone else wants to get asked to prom.  To each their own!Neon Rubber Dinosaur Planters

Flea markets, thrift shops and the iconic (or surprisingly underwhelming?) coffee shop scene — we could’ve probably spent the entire day wandering through the neighborhood.
Bacon Maple Donut from Gordough'sBut alas, our inner foodies led us to another trailer called Gourdough’s — creator of THE BEST donuts I ever ate.  We got the Dirty Berry (hot fudge with grilled strawberries) and the Flying Pig (bacon with maple syrup frosting).  Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and let the food coma commence.
Gem & Initial Letter NecklaceAll in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend in Texas with my best friend / new favorite blog photog (see her work here, here, here and here).  Thanks for an amazing time Em!  I’m sure I’ll be back again!

Spring Chambray Shirt

I’ve got one last outfit from our DC trip a few weeks ago (someone take me back, please!).  With all of the cherry blossoms in bloom, I couldn’t resist reaching for this textured white dress.  I love the soft and subtle floral texture and played it up with a polka dot shirt as an extra layer.  It’s sweet, simple and the perfect outfit for a quick spring adventure.Polka Dot Chambray Shirt Spring Chambray Shirt Chambray Shirt & White Dress Colorblock Studded Bag Skirt The Rules White Polka Dot Dress 6
