Month: September 2012

Had enough with animal prints yet?  Didn’t think so.  I wore this outfit on the second day of #IFBCON almost two weeks ago.  After having gone with an edgy vibe on day one, I wanted to make day two a bit more glam.  Black, white and red combo is a no-brainer, but the animal print, statement necklace, and velvet flats add a little bit more luxe to an otherwise classic look.

Another week in NYC in the books, but this past week in particular made realize how lucky I am to be living in such an amazing city.  On Monday, I attended my very first NYFW event.  On Tuesday, I wandered around downtown and was humbled by all of the police officers and first responders dressed in full uniform (thank you for your service!).  And from my very own bedroom, I could see the Tribute in Light, two very bright columns of light shining from downtown.

It’s only been 2.5 weeks since I moved here, but there are plenty of plans already in the works and I can’t wait to share them with you all.  For now, here’s a few photos of what I’ve been up to via Instagram.

Had to take my laptop in to the Apple Store, so I took it to the coolest one in NYC!

An afternoon sweet fix with bite-sized cupcakes at Baked by Melissa.

A glimpse of Fashion’s Night Out — which doesn’t depict how insane it was!

A polka-dot manicure inspired by my new blogger friend Tracy of The Right Shoes.

Dinner date with an NYC bestie!

Cocktail glasses waiting to be poured at my first NYFW event with Mauricio Alpizar!  Cheers!

This past Monday, I was invited to attend the fashion presentation for Mauricio Alpizar’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.  Needless to say, as a little ol’ style blogger from Arizona, I was so excited to be attending my first NYFW event!  Not bad for my second week living in NYC, don’t you think?

The collection was chock full of my favorite things: sparkles, prints, and bright colors — not to the mention the gorgeously styled hair on all of the models!  Bold jewelry offset delicate pastel colors perfectly, but I’m pretty sure the sequined bolero (see above) stole the show.  What do you guys think?
