12 in 2012.

I’ve always been a resolutions kind of gal.  Even if I don’t necessarily accomplish them all, it’s always helpful to set goals to get me motivated and keep me focused. So here’s my 12 resolutions for 2012:

1. Explore my city.
I’ve lived in Tucson for over 7 years now and there are still places I haven’t been and things I haven’t done.  I am most definitely moving away after graduation, so I best soak up everything about this sunny city while I can.

2. Blog blog blog!
There are some days when blogging feels like a chore, but mostly it has been an incredible outlet where I can express myself and record my own perspective.  It’s been a rewarding experience so far and I plan to continue blogging as frequently and passionately as possible!

3. Organize my life.
On the days when I’m feeling most overwhelmed, I find myself swamped with too much to do and way too much clutter. I’m starting the year off with some major spring cleaning by throwing out, recycling, or donating everything I don’t use or need.

4. Indulge a little.
Being a pragmatic person sometimes has its downfalls, which mainly involves not treating myself to life’s little indulgences.  I hope to find more balance by taking care of myself and setting aside time for R&R.

5. Work with what I’ve got.
Shopping is definitely one of my favorite pastimes, but it might also be my worst habit.  To cut down on the “need” for retail therapy, I’m removing the clutter from my closet to hopefully get re-inspired by the things I already have and love.

6. Run a half-marathon.
This one’s definitely ambitious for me, considering that I hate running.  But I like the idea of training, improving, and working towards a tangible goal.  So what the hell, let’s go for it.

 7. Get outdoors.
I live in a city that’s all about outdoor activities, which I don’t partake in frequently enough.  I love to hike and camp — I just need to set aside the time to do it!

8. Cook like an Iron Chef.
Okay, so maybe I’ll never measure up to an Iron Chef, but I’d like to spruce up my cooking and baking skills, try new things, and experiment.

9. Read (for leisure).
I love reading a good novel, but I don’t nearly have enough time to do it.  Not to mention my  ever-growing pile of unread magazines sitting on the coffee table.  It’s time to make some time.

10. Say yes to adventure.
If you know me, you know that I suffer from a major case of the travel bug.  I love to explore new places and experience new things.  So whatever opportunities come my way, I’m totally game.

11.  Have the best last semester EVER.
My law school friends and I only have one more semester until we graduate and enter the real world, so it’s time to live it up.  ‘Nuff said.

12. Move.
By the time I graduate law school, I will have lived in Tucson for 8 years and in Arizona for nearly 26.  I’m ready for a new chapter in my life and I can’t wait to share it with my boyfriend and the pup wherever we may be.

I definitely have a lot on my plate this year, but I couldn’t be more excited and I can’t wait to share it with you!
