I’ve been making a conscious effort not to shop as much as I used to anymore. It’s been a great exercise in will power, but when I do find something that I love, I just can’t resist. Enter my new moto jacket, leopard bag and faux leather pants.

So much for a ban on shopping, but when you find something that will work for seasons to come, don’t pass it up. I love all of the pieces individually and put together, I feel like a bit of a biker chick — well, that’s if biker gangs wore tweed, leopard and pointy pumps.

I never really plan my outfits in advance (which is maybe why I’m perpetually running late), but I like to start my day off feeling like a blank canvas. Some days — like today — my outfit ideas start off soft and feminine and end up more forward and fierce. Case in point: a fun floral dress that was completely transformed by a little leather and a pop of neon. Take a little time to experiment with your wardrobe and I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised with all the possibilities!

luxe for less.

I hate to admit it, but I was one of the maniacs that stayed up until 4:30 AM for the release of the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collections a few weeks ago. When the packages came in the mail, I couldn’t decide whether the sleep deprivation was worth it. But once this outfit came together, I felt a little bit better about my life. I’m all about creating luxe looks for less. And while the real 3.1 Phillip Lim is still on my wishlist, I’m glad I get to have a few fun pieces from the designer collab to call my own.
