Happy summer solstice! It’s the first day of summer (ha!) and the longest day of the year. So let’s celebrate with my official summer shoe: the wedge! I love wedges because they amp up any day outfit, but are equally wearable into the night. They’re usually slightly easier to walk around in than heels and make just as much of a statement.

Even though summer just barely started, I’m already back on the grind at work. I love my job, but working the 9 to 5 life has made me appreciate weekends more than ever. So as I’m counting down the hours left in the work week, I thought I’d share one of my favorite weekend looks.
By now, it’s no surprise that I’m obsessed with rompers. Seriously, I’d wear them everyday if I could! I think they’re the perfect summer staple — lightweight, versatile, and (most importantly) easy to thrown on. I paired this fuchsia piece with a floral print button-up for coverage and a leopard print skinny belt for definition.
The weekend uniform is ready … now I just need the weekend to get here.

Back in undergrad, I used to be a jeans girl — denim pants, denim shorts, denim skirts. Life was so easy in jeans. Then again, where’s the fun in that?
I’ve been making a conscious effort to inject a little color into my pants and shorts (pink pants anyone?). It’s a fun challenge discovering new color combos beyond those that involve denim blue. Best of all, a little color is a surefire way to cure the Monday blues.
