belmont stakes.

This past Saturday, Tracy and I took a trip on the Long Island Rail Road over to Belmont Stakes, the third and final leg of the US Triple Crown (look at me pretending to know something about horse racing!). It was a fabulous escape from the city, complete with big hats, sundresses and mimosas. I couldn’t have asked for a better time — minus the fact that I lost $11 in bets (high roller, I know).

It was barely a month ago that I was reveling in my first ever actual spring. The whole city was in bloom and everyone had an extra pep in their step. Well May has come and gone and summer is moving on in. It feels like I barely just tucked away my winter coats, but with the 90°F weather rolling in, it’s about time for my denim and leather jackets to go into hibernation too. four ways to wear: monochrome.

It’s round two of my collaboration with Caitlin of A Little Dash of Darling, Amanda of Little Miss Fearless, and Lynzy of Sparkling Footsteps. This time, we’re showing you how to wear one color from head to toe for a monochromatic look.

You can usually find me rocking at least two or three different colors in any given outfit, but sticking to a single color from head to toe? Surprisingly, I’ve never tried it! Turns out, going monochromatic makes for an outfit that’s just as vivacious as my usual repertoire. For this challenge, I covered myself in corals. From an over-saturated blouse and skirt to coral color-blocking on my shoes, I definitely embraced the phrase “head to toe!”
