While swapping out my winter wardrobe for spring attire last month, I decided to hold onto my tweed skirts for just a little while longer. For the most part, it’s been lightweight skirts and flowy dresses all month long, but when temps occasionally dip back down down into the chilly zone, I’m forced to go crawling back to my thicker layers.

This past weekend, I decided to toughen up the tweed with a faux leather moto jacket and strappy heels (in reality, I wore black chucks to get around). Black accessories and a graphic clutch give the usually preppy texture a little bit of edge. Let me know what you think about this combo and scroll down for a little guest star in today’s post.

spring medley.

Having a case of the Mondays seems to only get worse in the spring. I spent most of the morning wistfully wishing it was the weekend again and I can’t wait to get back to exploring the city, lounging around in the park and twirling around in bright, floral outfits and cheerful accessories.

black + bright.

Today’s outfit is what I called my “toned down” look. I started with black and brown basics, because they always makes for an easy foundation, but it just wouldn’t be me without a few pops of color. A neon cardigan, a bright clutch, and bold nail polish and there you have it — an outfit that’s perfect to usher in the weekend. Happy Friday everyone!
