an (almost) ode to black.

After overdosing on color from yesterday’s outfit, my best friend asked me to give an ode to black. I just about died laughing at the request. She lives in LA and wears mostly dark shades while I live in NYC and wear mostly colorful brights — it’s quite a comical contrast. Well boo, this is as good as it’s gonna get: my (almost) ode to black, because it wouldn’t be me without a few pops of neon.

jam packed.

I usually like to plan an outfit around one piece — a statement necklace, a printed blouse or a pair of killer shoes — and build from there. Well today’s outfit was spontaneously jam-packed with a few of my favorite things: floral, lace and neon. There wasn’t really a starting point — just a bunch of fabulously bright and punchy pieces from my closet coming together to make one heck of a colorful spring outfit. Try it some time — you’ll never know what you’ll come up with!

sharp + chic.

Even though this weekend went by way too fast, I figured I’d start off the work week right with a sharp and chic outfit. As hard as it is to pull myself out of bed on a Monday morning, getting dressed for the day helps put a little pep in my leopard step. And while I’m not certainly not ready for the craziness of this week’s events, I can at least look like I am. Happy Monday friends!
