I’m usually all about my mixed prints, but today, I decided to pile on a single print: stripes. The fundamentals are the same: make sure that the prints are similar in color (here, navy and white) and proportion. It’s a fresh take on one of my favorite ways to dress up prints — a little more streamlined, but still just as fun. What do you think of the stripes on stripes action?

Remember when I told you that I have a J.Crew problem? Well, that addiction extends into J.Crew Factory and more recently, Crew Cuts. Spotted from across the outlet store, in the girls’ section, was the most adorable skirt in a polka dot print. A similar skirt had recently sold out in adult sizes, so I knew I had to make it work. I had no shame squeezing into a skirt meant for a fourteen year old, but I did away with a trim white tulle that was peeking out from underneath. The final result: a spring skirt that I know I will be getting plenty of wear this season!

Do you ever have those days where you get dressed, only to realize that you’re basically wearing one clothing store from head to toe? Well, today is one of those days. And while everyone knows that I love J.Crew, I think the unintentional planning of this near mono-label outfit has elevated my mild obsession to a sick addiction. Someone help me! I’ll always have a weakness for J.Crew’s colorful cuts, but I think it’s time to put some more effort into diversifying my wardrobe. We’ll see how that goes …
