Another month bites the dust. This weekend may mark the end of summer, but the season feels like it’s been wrapping up all month long. One look at my August outfits and you can tell that I’ve been dabbling in the fall palette. Maroon, navy, and black are creeping back into my wardrobe. I promise to hang onto as much color as I can, but it’s time to accept that fall is almost here!

Going from princess to prep today. This week has been particularly gloomy and I find myself reaching for darker colors already. Plus, there’s much less fuss in throwing on a denim shirt, a striped skirt, and a pair of flats. With the three day weekend around the corner, my wardrobe and I are already on cruise control and ready for fall.

Today marks the completion of my first year in New York City! It’s been a year full of challenges and adventures — with a bit of glamour and a whole lot of grit. Still, I’ve been lucky enough to have experienced a few magical moments in NYC and I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate my first year here than by having a little Carrie Bradshaw moment of my own.
Walking the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time was a special moment for me. It took me nearly six months to actually do it, but once I did, I realized how for the first time, walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan felt like I was heading home. So now I return from time to time — not usually dressed in a fluffy tulle skirt and lace up heels — but always in awe of incredible city I get to call home.
