Floral prints might be the oldest trick in the spring trends book, so I prefer to pair my prints with unexpected details. I love the pops of neon and mesh paneling on this Prabal Gurung for Target top — it feels fresh and futuristic. Top it off with cobalt blue nail polish and a pair of snakeskin pumps for an ultra modern look.

a sequined spectacle.

The blog turns two this week and I’m kicking off the celebration in full-on sparkle! Tracy and I ventured to DUMBO to take a ride on Jane’s Carousel. It was the most hilarious and dizzying minute of my life. I’m sure we got a few stares for our shenanigans, but if I’m going to make a spectacle of myself, I’m going at least to do it in sequins!

pink + patterns.

Maybe it was my bright pink coat or maybe it was the fact that I was the only girl in NYC walking around town sans tights, but I got a lot of looks strolling through Union Square yesterday. And even though spring is still three weeks away, I’m already in the spirit of bright, bold colors and there’s no turning back from that — even if means that I stand out in a sea of black down jackets and wool coats.
