Why does everyone tend to wear darker, more muted colors in the winter? As if the freezing temps and lack of sunlight weren’t depressing enough! Before moving to NYC, I made a promise to myself to keep wearing colorful clothes, even if that meant that I was the only one in a hot pink coat in a sea of black. Hey, at least that makes me easier to find!

I promise I didn’t join a biker gang, but I’ve been on a bit of a moto jacket kick lately. First, there was this tweed piece on Monday, and now there’s this little knit number. Both nontraditional textures that would likely wouldn’t fly in a motorcycle club.

But I’m okay with that. And I was more than okay with the 60°F weather we were having on Monday. Definitely a bit of a fluke, but it was the perfect opportunity to pull out my new lightweight knit and faux leather skirt one last time before hibernation.

As you may have noticed on Instagram, I flew back to Arizona over the weekend for a quick, but amazing Homecoming reunion. It was a short trip (flew in Friday night, flew out on the Sunday red eye), but it was worth reuniting with my law school fam.

And now it’s back to the grind in NYC, where I’m nursing my Monday-morning vacation hangover with a little more of my favorite college colors (red, navy and leopard). Missing all of my AZ friends already — can’t wait until next time!
