dreary vs. cheery.

It’s been a dreary week in NYC of cloudy skies and unpredictable drizzle, but I’m not one to let the weather get me down.  Yesterday, I threw on this cheery outfit (complete with hot pink rain flats) for a lunch date with my blogger friend Tracy of The Right Shoes.  The humidity made the day unexpectedly warm and gross, but we made the best of it with some post-lunch macarons and a photoshoot at a nearby park.

Fun and functional is the key during busy weeks like this.  So on days when I need to be out and about, I prefer mixing easy neutral pieces with a pop of color.  I mean, leopard is a neutral right?

By the end of a long week, it’s sometimes easier just to thrown on a bunch of neutrals and call it a day. Luckily for me, neutrals mean leopard, stripes, and my favorite black chain necklace that seriously goes with everything. Happy weekend everyone!
