I’m finally beginning to settle into my NYC apartment.  And even though there’s still plenty of clothes to be unpacked, I’m looking to add a few finishing touches to the place that I’m subletting for the next 2 1/2 months.  I never really invested in much home decor while in school, but now that I get to call NYC my home, I headed to West Elm to get inspired.  My current place is fully furnished, but when I find a more stable location, I plan on incorporating plenty of color, patterns, and texture.

When it comes to organization, I’m a very visual person.  I need to have things laid out in front of me, otherwise I’ll forget that it’s there.  So when it came to organizing smaller items, I discovered that clear containers were the perfect storage solution for me.

I picked up all the glassware from Ikea — small vases and bowls that I could fill up with frequently used necessities like makeup brushes, nail polishes, and jewelry.  It definitely makes it easier to grab what I need, while adding a little visual fun to my daily routine.
