Skirt The Rules x Pantene Intense Rescue Shots 6

Guys, I’m really excited to be partnering with Pantene today to talk about my hair and all of the abuse I’ve put it through over the years.

Today, I’m partnering with Living Proof to chat about hair, which is kind of perfect, because I have a lot of it.
I started growing out my hair for our wedding back in May and then it just kept on going. I actually didn’t realize how long it was until we snapped this photo. As you might have guessed from my outfit photos, I curl my hair all the time – almost every day – so I don’t really notice it’s actual length until someone tells me how long my hair has grown (which I hear about once a week).
Length aside, it’s also pretty damaged from the constant abuse of my curling iron. I recently started noticing how dry/crunchy my strands felt, so I used Living Proof’s easy tool to figure out the best products for my current hair situation. I was especially excited to try out the Restore Mask Treatment. I’m what I like to call a “mask-aholic” and this one did not disappoint. After applying for just five minutes in the shower (in replacement of conditioner), my hair felt noticeably softer and smoother. Plus, it smells so good (all of the products do!). I’ve only used it twice now, so I can’t wait to see how the heeling progresses after a few weeks.
Another favorite is the Nightcap Overnight Perfector. It’s similar to the mask, but this one’s meant to be put on right before bedtime and left on overnight. I added a few pumps to my hair (focusing especially on the ends) and lo and behold: I woke up to softer, smoother, pretty smelling locks. Between this and the mask, my hair is definitely on the road to recovery!
Now that my long hair is feeling and looking better, it’s back to the curling iron (old habits die hard). I started by adding LP’s 5-in-1 Styling Treatment into damp hair, blow dried and curled, then finished with their Control Hairspray to make sure my ringlets last through the night and sometimes even through the next day because day-old curls are the best.

You can definitely tell the difference between my straight hair and my curled hair after it’s been treated with hair masks, overnight conditioning and the right hairspray. It just looks healthier and happier! I can’t say enough good things about my Living Proof experience – it’s kind totally worth the investment, even if you just start with the Restore Mask or the Nightcap (or this awesome intro kit!). Do you have any hair care tips for long locks? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

A few weeks ago during NYFW, Panasonic invited me backstage at the Diego Binetti runway show as one of their LUMIX Style Correspondents. They armed me with a Lumix GM1 camera and gave me a sneak peek of the models’ hair and makeup before the show.
Then they let me test out the same hairstyling tools at home! Truth be told, I didn’t even associate Panasonic beyond cameras and televisions, so I was curious to see how the Nanoe Hair Dryer and Nanoe Flat Iron would stack up against my usual hairstyling routine.
Turns out, I’m a convert. The “nanoe” technology works just like usual ionic/ceramic tools, but locks in even more moisture to your hair. The blow dryer took my hair from damp to dry in a matter of minutes and left my hair feeling super silky.
The flat iron was just as fast — as in, burnt my finger ten seconds after turning it on fast. But at least it was easy on my hair! I may or may not have ran the iron over the same section of hair four or five times while shooting for this post. Once I got the perfect shot (below), I was delightfully surprised to see that the “nanoe” technology protected my locks from getting burnt to a crisp.
So now it’s your turn! I’m teaming up with Panasonic to give away both the Nanoe Hair Dryer and Nanoe Flat Iron to one lucky reader! Enter using the widget below, because I know a certain furry someone who wouldn’t mind stealing these fabulous hairstyling tools for himself. The contest ends Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 12:00 AM EST. Good luck!
