Well friends, it looks like winter has officially made its way to NYC. Between the sun setting at 4:30 PM and temps making its way into the low twenties, I might be going into hibernation earlier than expected.

As an Arizona girl born and raised, this will be my second go around with an NYC winter. I’m not sure I’ll manage through it any better than I did last year, but I know I’ll be curing my seasonal depression with plenty of rich colors, moody patterns, and luxe-looking accessories. Hey, whatever works right?

lighthouse.

Immediately following our afternoon in the Hamptons on Saturday, James, Tracy and I drove another 45 minutes to the most eastern point of the island. We visited the Montauk Point Lighthouse — New York’s oldest lighthouse. The sun was quickly setting, but we made it just in time to take in the coastal fixture and wander down to the shore so that Tracy could see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time ever.

And as summer quickly comes to an end, I thought I’d make use of a few of my favorite warm-weather staples one last time. It’s hard to transition away from my favorite season of the year, but I’m glad I got to have one hell of a weekend say goodbye.

Does the print on this skirt look familiar? I wore a similar looking top a few weeks back and can’t get enough of the watercolor scheme. The ethereal feel is a refreshing change of pace from the city grind. And as much as I’d love to escape the concrete jungle for the entire summer, sometimes a relaxed look and a trip to the park will do the trick.
