This past Saturday, James, Tracy and I took a road trip to the Hamptons. Considering that it was the first time that any of us had ever been, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect start to the weekend. We started with lunch in Southampton, followed by a little shopping onMain Street.
And even though our visit was brief, I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with a kind of joy that is sometimes lacking when I’m in the city. Outside of Manhattan, time moves a little bit slower and live feels a little bit more relaxed. I completely understand the draw of the Hamptons and definitely plan on being back next season!
Tune in later this week for the next leg in our weekend adventure. Hint: it’s even more peaceful than the Hamptons!
This past weekend, the boyfriend and I drove up to Rhode Island for a little birthday getaway. We ate and drank our way through Providence and Newport, laid out by the sea, and hung out with the Vanderbilts. It was a quick trip, but packed with plenty of exploration and sightseeing.
For our stroll through the Brown University campus, I put on my version of the summer suit: a double dose of denim topped with a light gray blazer and cognac accessories. A little bit casual, a little bit collegiate and a whole lot of chic.
It’s Wednesday and I’m suffering from major vacation withdrawals. So let’s rewind to last week when I was on cloud nine and basking in the North Carolina sunshine. This pastel getup paired perfectly with my surreal escape from the daily grind.
