It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only two days away. So to get in the festive spirit, I threw on a bright red frock and a few gold accoutrements. I’m off to spend some time with friends and family and I hope you have a wonderful and joy-filled Christmas weekend!

I don’t remember how it came to be, but my high school best friend and I once declared turquoise and purple to be our power colors and somehow it just stuck. At debate competitions (nerd alert) she wore a turquoise blouse with turquoise pumps and I wore a similar purple ensemble. We thought we were pretty badass and to this day, this color combo still brings a smile to my face. We were definitely onto something because this jeweled-toned pairing is boldly perfect no matter the season.

f21 dress (worn as a top); f21 skirt; kate spade necklace; h&m belt; cc skye bracelet; stuart weitzman shoes
Remember this skirt? Even though I purchased it back in March (and wore it for my first post ever!), I’ve racked up tons of mileage out of it this floral number. Thanks to all the different colors in the print, I’ve been able to constantly remix it into different looks, dressing it up and down and for both warmer and cooler weather.
To make the skirt fit for fall, I actually wore a lace navy dress underneath and layered the skirt on top. The orange skinny belt adds a pop of color and gold hardware pulls the whole look together.
