mix + match.

I’m so glad that I made the most of last week’s mildly warm weather because today, temps dropped to 50 degrees.  I didn’t realize that NYC fall = Arizona winter, but this is what I signed up for, so I’m stickin’ it out!  I’ve got a few warm weather outfits lined up like this mixed print number, but after that it’s sweaters, boots, and jackets for me!

dreary vs. cheery.

It’s been a dreary week in NYC of cloudy skies and unpredictable drizzle, but I’m not one to let the weather get me down.  Yesterday, I threw on this cheery outfit (complete with hot pink rain flats) for a lunch date with my blogger friend Tracy of The Right Shoes.  The humidity made the day unexpectedly warm and gross, but we made the best of it with some post-lunch macarons and a photoshoot at a nearby park.

down in DC.

My east coast explorations have begun!  Last weekend, I hopped on the Bolt Bus for a 4.5-hour ride down to DC.  I met up with the boyfriend (who I hadn’t seen in a month!), hung out with some of my best friends from undergrad, and attended the wedding of one of my dear friends from high school.  All in all amazing weekend full of great people, fantastic food, and incredible history.  Check out from of my snaps from Instagram.

A ring of American flags at the base of the Washington Monument.

Flowers from the Botanic Gardens and sweets from around the District.

Wedding celebrations on a boat.  Congrats Melissa and Joel!

Weekend drinking.  Some classier than others (esp. the shots from a squeeze bottle!).

Cruising down the Potomac River with a gorgeous view of the monuments at night.
