The Perfect Maxi (Part 2)

Remember this maxi dress? Well it’s baaaack. The length was so perfect that I couldn’t pass on the teal version. And after a day of lakeside shenanigans, it felt good to slip into something comfortable and light, yet still quintessentially summer. I promise you, I’ll be floating around in this frock all season long.

Fluted Skirt

Teal isn’t usually the first color that comes to mind when you think of summer, but I recently snagged this fluted skirt on major sale from J.Crew and had to take it for a spin. I decided to keep the rest of the palette on the same side of the colorF spectrum, mixing a navy printed tank with this gorgeous leopard clutch. I’m feeling more like fall in this outfit, but don’t you worry — I also just scooped up the skirt in bright red and poppy, so we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled bolds and brights soon enough!

Lakeside Love

We all know that the Monday after a holiday is always the worst — especially when you’ve just spent it with all your favorite people. Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays and for the past two years, we’ve headed down to Lake Norman in North Carolina for a weekend of sparkling sips, fireworks and an epic tournament of cornhole.

Usually, my lakeside attire involves a bikini, barefeet and a bucket of bug spray, but on Friday, I forced all of my friends to dress up in their patriotic best for a few group photos (more on that later!). My outfit didn’t deviate much from the red, white and blue look I shared last week, but I like what I like: button ups, statement necklaces and ‘Merica. Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!
