Last week, I paid a visit to the Sequin showroom — a cute space in the Garment District packed full of gorgeous jewelry. From punchy arm candy to insane statement necklaces, I felt like a kid in a candy store while Rose showed me collections from upcoming seasons and from years past. The boyfriend and I have our first NYC apartment! I’ve been subletting since I moved here and even though it was nice place to set up base for a few months, it definitely lacked a personal touch. So when it came to finding an apartment of our own, we wanted to make sure that it was a place we could call home for the next year or two.
Well I scoured the city, trolled Craigslist, and scoped out a dozen apartments during my search. And just when I started to lose hope, I found this gem: a fourth floor walk-up in Gramercy with new renovations, great living space, and two amazing closets (well … for NYC). From the search, to the application, to the fees and deposits — it’s been an exhausting process. But now that’s behind us, we get to focus on making this apartment and this city our home!
I fall deeper in love with NYC every time I step out the front door. There’s always so much to do, be it shopping, eating, aimless meandering, or all of the above. Last week, the boyfriend came to visit and it was the perfect time to check out some notable sights, but also to explore more hidden gems.
