Similar black and white striped sweater / Frame ‘Le Skinny’ satine ripped jeans / GiGi New York ‘Madison’ crossbody bag (c/o) (50% off this week only!) / Halogen basket weave wrap scarf
Holy crap, we made it to Friday! Even though it was only a four-day work week, I still call that a win! To celebrate, I’m sharing another roundup from my recent outfits on Instagram. I wish it was more along the lines of my Bermuda roundup from last week, but sadly there are much more layers involved. But… there are some pretty sweet end-of-winter sales going on, like GiGi New York’s heavily discounted leather bags at 50-60% off (this week only!). My favorites includes the crossbody bag that I wear all the time, this bucket bag, this satchel and the tassel clutch I have in three different colors.
Lou & Grey gingham pop-on shirt / Clare Vivier leopard flat pouch / BP ‘Trolley’ ankle bootie
End-of-winter sales can only mean one thing: the end of winter is almost here. Hopefully. I bought this bright blue gingham shirt a few weeks ago and can’t wait to wear it for spring. For now, I’m layering with my favorite pair of ankle booties, skinny jeans and a cozy cardigan.
LOFT striped woven poncho (on sale for $35!) / Lou & Grey layering tank (on sale for $9!) / Black ponte leggings / Gold lariat necklace / Fendi ‘2Jours Elite’ leather bag / BP ‘Trolley’ ankle bootie
There’s also this clearly-made-for-spring striped poncho, which I shared on the blog two weeks ago, but really was freezing my ass off in because there was still snow on the ground from Winterstorm Jonas. It’s the perfect layering for lounging around the house, but not quite ready for the outside world.
J.Crew ‘Cocoon’ coat (on sale for $130!) / BP jacquard print scarf / AG ‘The Legging’ ankle jeans in ‘4 Year Fog’ / BP ‘Trolley’ ankle bootie
My J.Crew Cocoon coat is a much more practical outerwear option and it’s finally on major sale! Buy it now (it comes in four different colors) and I promise it’s a coat you’ll be using for years to come. And yes, I wear these ankle booties almost every day. Don’t hate.

Another day, another sweater. I’m excited for lighter-layered days to come, but in the meantime, I’m transitioning out my dark chunky sweaters for happier hues (like this Lou & Grey sweater) that still keep me warm but look like spring. Also, I jumped on the lace-up flats bandwagon and I’m not mad about it.
J.Crew ‘Nordic’ parka (on sale for $255!) / Black ponte leggings / Nike ‘Free’ sneakers
As magical as snow looks when it first begins to fall, I’m so over it. Maybe it’s just the West Coast girl in me, but I could really do without it. Luckily, it’s been a relatively mild winter (with the exception of the past few weeks), but at least I’ll be ready for the next storm with this heavy duty parka (the olive green color is so gorgeous and the lining inside is a brilliant bright orange!). Fingers crossed, though, that this coat can go back into hibernation for the rest of the year.

Lilly Pullitzer ‘Lindamarie’ caftan (c/o) / Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ sunglasses / Rebecca Minkoff ‘Mini MAB’ crossbody bag / Steve Madden brown ankle strap sandals
If you follow me on Instagram (@skirttherules_) and Snapchat (username: SkirtTheRules), then you probably saw that James and I had a quick getaway to Bermuda a few weeks ago. It happened to be the same weekend as Winter Storm Jonas, so the timing was perfect!
Unfortunately, we had a series of misfortunate events where we 1) made a mad dash to the gate as the doors were closing, 2) lost our camera somewhere in between security and the plane and 3) ended up getting caught in a torrential downpour for most of the trip (not evident in this photos) thanks to being on the periphery of Jonas. Nevertheless, Bermuda was beautiful and I’m already missing it! To battle the tropical withdrawals, I thought I’d share a roundup for the photos we did manage to snap on my phone.
BP high neck tank (on sale for $20!) / Madewell ‘Knotshine’ necklace / AG denim leggings in ‘4 Year Fog’ / GiGi New York ‘Madison’ crossbody bag (c/o) / Julie Vos ‘Escada’ bangle (c/o) / Julie Vos ‘Pegasus’ revolving ring / Pour La Victoire ‘Yaya’ heels
Aside from the rain, the weather was perfect with temps fluctuating between high 60s and low 70s (I’ll take it in late January!). We managed to lay by the pool and walk along the beach when the sun was out. During the rest of the day, a flowy crop top (there’s a better picture of it here) and my favorite pair of denim leggings was enough to keep me warm as we explored the island.
ASTR linen pocket front dress / Julie Vos ‘Escada’ bangle (c/o) / Julie Vos ‘Pegasus’ revolving ring / Gold pave cuff
I also brought along this striped linen dress because it was love at first sight (just look at those oversized pockets!). During our first evening on the island, I threw on a cozy cardigan as we headed to the city center of Hamilton for dinner. It’s not really possible to trek around island by foot, but taking the bus was pretty easy (just super slow). We walked along Front Street, which is pretty much the hub for island nightlife, and had dinner at The Pickled Onion.
Soludos tan leather espadrille sandal / Steve Madden brown ankle strap sandals / Pour La Victoire ‘Yaya’ heels
One of the most difficult things that I have with packing is figuring out which shoes I’m going to bring, so I tried to keep it simple by limiting myself to three on this trip. An easy flat sandal, a closed-toe shoe and a pair of heels covered all of my bases … and they just all happen to be a shade of tan.
Lush panel swing dress (only $38!) / Gold tassel necklace / Julie Vos ‘Escada’ bangle (c/o) /GiGi New York ‘Madison’ crossbody bag (c/o) / Soludos tan leather espadrille sandal
Another recurring theme in my vacation wardrobe? Stripes, stripes and more stripes. This black and white striped swing dress is another keeper. You can’t see in this photo, but it has short sleeves and the perfect trapeze shape to hide all of the rum swizzles that I drank on the trip.
Merona striped one-piece swimsuit / Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ sunglasses
We only had one day of decent sunshine, so you better believe I was out by the water for as much as possible. It was also the first time I’ve ever worn a one-piece swimsuit. Not sure why I was always self-conscious about it (especially since I’m totally fine wearing a two-piece), but wearing this striped number from Target was a dream. You can check my Instagram for a better look at the front – the draping is so flattering!

Glamorous off the shoulder knit minidress (on sale for $31!) / BP jacquard scarf (on sale for $13!) / GiGi New York ‘Madison’ crossbody bag (c/o) / Soludos tan leather espadrille sandal
This was my last outfit of the trip – and yes, I pretty much made 2-3 wardrobe changes everyday because why not? This long-sleeve knit dress was actually perfect for the cool temps and breezy weather. I can’t wait to visit the island again during warmer weather! Have you been to Bermuda before? I’d love to hear about your experience!
