Somewhere in between March’s freak snowstorm and April’s rainy days, spring magically sprung. Having never really experienced four full seasons (an Arizona spring lasts for about two weeks in February), I never imagined how glorious this time of year could be. People shedding their winter coats and tights, lowers blooming in every planter and park throughout the city, and me decking myself out in bright colors and bold prints galore. This weekend, Tracy and I ventured down to Prospect Park for a major change of scenery. And while Central Park makes for a quick escape from the urban life, this Brooklyn gem feels like a completely different continent. Wide open lawns, tree-covered paths, and far less tourists — it’s a trek definitely work making.

I’m usually all about my mixed prints, but today, I decided to pile on a single print: stripes. The fundamentals are the same: make sure that the prints are similar in color (here, navy and white) and proportion. It’s a fresh take on one of my favorite ways to dress up prints — a little more streamlined, but still just as fun. What do you think of the stripes on stripes action?
