I’ve seen my fair share of cities, but I’ve never seen anything like Venice.

On our second day in Italy, we hopped on a train to Venice. From the moment we arrived to the time we departed, I was in awe. I mean, how does a city function with waterways as roads?! We stayed at the Hotel Cavalletto, which was steps away from the main piazza and overlooked a quiet intersection of the canal.

I slipped into my new Cooper & Ella off the shoulder dress and we headed out to achieve two things: find delicious pasta and ride a gondola. First up, we visited Dal Moro’s for fresh pasta served up piping hot and fresh in a to-go box. It’s definitely a must east in Venice – cheap and quick, but better than any fancy Italian meal I’ve had here at home.

Thank God we saved on lunch though, because we shelled out a pretty penny for a gondola ride. It’s €80 for a thirty-minute ride through the canals, but to us, the experience of gliding down the Grand Canal was completely worth it.
