Spring Outfit Inspiration: Floral Pajama Pants

Last week, I shared that James and I aren’t really big on Valentine’s Day dates — or at least of the traditional variety. We avoid actually going out on February 14, mainly because I’m not a big fan of crowded restaurants and pricey pre-fixe menus. So we decided to celebrate a little early over the weekend … with a day trip to Charleston, South Carolina.

Full transparency here before you think we’re insane: you might recall that I work in the airline industry so traveling is very easy for us to do! Charleston has been on my list for years and while I would’ve loved to stay longer, a day trip was just what we needed this weekend. I’m planning to write a post dedicated to our eight-hour itinerary, but in the meantime, I wanted to share this insanely comfortable outfit that I wore on the plane ride there.

Spring Outfit Inspiration: Floral Pajama Pants

I picked up these floral pajama-style pants from Bloomingdale’s last week, just as they were starting their Valentine’s Day Sale (take 20% off your purchase). I’ve never rocked the pajamas-as-streetwear trend before, but these were the perfect pair to experiment with. They’re silky to the touch, and can be dressed down with a denim jacket or up with a pretty tie front blouse. If you end up getting these pants, prepare for all of the compliments.

Spring Style: How to Dress Up a Jean Jacket

Now that we’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day in our own slightly-crazy way, we’ll probably be laying low on Wednesday night. My ideal date: work out at the gym together and then grab takeout at a nearby health food joint. What’re your plans for the “big”/no-so-big day?

Just a two and a half hour flight from Sydney is Airlie Beach in Queensland — a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. After spending a day snorkeling in one of the seven natural wonders of the world, I broke out this dreamy off the shoulder dress for a stroll along the beach.

You know I’m no stranger to a gorgeous off the shoulder dress. I especially love this one for it’s playful red and white stripes and the romantic ruffled layers at the hem. Couple it with a straw circle bag (the one accessory you need for spring/summer!) and I’d say you have the perfect outfit for a warm weather getaway.

Summer Style in Sydney / Navy Maxi Dress

I know there are a lot of sensational headlines being thrown around these days, but I promise you this: if you’re going on vacation in the near future, this is the only dress you’re going to want to wear.

I have a similar dress from our trip to Nice last July, but this one is way more comfortable and easy to wear. There’s a little cutout in front, which I love, but it’s actually pretty subtle since the bow tie sits in front of it. I wore this on our first full day of exploring Sydney when we explored the Sydney Harbour. As you can from this post, I wore a bunch of different outfits in Australia. But the truth is, after we finished shooting outfits, I constantly found myself switching back to this outfit for dinner or drinks or a walk along the boardwalk. What can I say? The heart wants what the heart wants!
