Madrid was full of oh-so-Instagrammable streets, parks and rooftops. But if there’s one place you need to go see and take a picture of, it’s the Palacio de Cristal.

Palacio de Cristal in Madrid, Spain

The Palacio de Cristal is a glass and metal structure in the Buen Retiro Park. It’s not very big, but when the light shines through the trees and the glass, this place looks like a dream!
When we were planning our visit, I had all of the intentions to wake up super early and get to the park before the crowds. Unfortunately, our bodies had other plans and we slept in until about 11:00 AM (which always happens on our first day in Europe). By the time we got to the park, it was probably around 2:00 PM and as I feared, there was quite a sizable crowd wandering around the Palacio.
But with a little patience and a quick trigger finger, we managed to get the shots we needed to make it seem like we had the whole place to ourselves! This place really is a dream and if you’re ever visiting Madrid, you need to add the Palacio de Cristal to your list!

Before we dive into all of the fall outfits, this week’s posts are going to be all about our recent trip Spain. Because nothing says I’m focused on the work week like daydreaming about our latest adventures.

Rooftop Bar at Deal Hotel Madrid

I love Europe so much. From New York, it’s an easy hop, skip and a flight away and yet every country we go to feels like a whole different world with so much to explore. So far, I’ve been to England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy and The Netherlands. Spain has been on our bucket list for a while now (Portugal is on there too, but that’ll have to wait for another adventure. We started our trip in Madrid – mainly because Real Madrid is James’ favorite soccer team and they were playing at home that weekend. Other than that, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I heard mixed reviews (e.g. that Madrid felt like any other major European city and that Barcelona was way better), but it turns out we really enjoyed it!

It was easy to get around, there were so many great coffee shops (tonic espressos were the best way to cool off in the heat) and there were a lot of museums, markets and parks to explore. We ended up using HotelTonight (use code JEDANG for $25 off) to snag a room at Dear Hotel and the views from the roof did not disappoint! I’m working on a list of places we visited while in Madrid, but in the meantime – cheers! May your Monday be short and your wanderlust strong!
