Happy Monday – well, as happy as a Monday after July 4th can be!

We just got home from a week-long vacation in South Africa (you can check out my Instagram highlights for more details and I’ll be posting about it on the blog in the coming weeks). I suspect today’s going to be rough, so I’m counting on an easy dress like this one to get me through the morning using as little mental energy as possible.

More and more, I find myself gravitating towards dresses with sleeves and pockets for my go-to summer work outfit. I work in an office with a casual dress code, and I think short sleeves straddle the line between fresh and profresh. Also, pockets – no explanation needed! It’s hard to feel “beachy” when the streets of NYC are covered in dirty snow, but just indulge me for a sec.

We took a quick trip to Charleston two weeks ago, which was the perfect opportunity to bring along this striped dress. It was love at first sight – the bow detail, the leg slits and the blue and turquoise color combo. Every little detail has me dreaming of beach weather! But at this point, I’ll take anything above 50°F!
