Spring Outfit Inspiration: Floral Pajama Pants

Last week, I shared that James and I aren’t really big on Valentine’s Day dates — or at least of the traditional variety. We avoid actually going out on February 14, mainly because I’m not a big fan of crowded restaurants and pricey pre-fixe menus. So we decided to celebrate a little early over the weekend … with a day trip to Charleston, South Carolina.

Full transparency here before you think we’re insane: you might recall that I work in the airline industry so traveling is very easy for us to do! Charleston has been on my list for years and while I would’ve loved to stay longer, a day trip was just what we needed this weekend. I’m planning to write a post dedicated to our eight-hour itinerary, but in the meantime, I wanted to share this insanely comfortable outfit that I wore on the plane ride there.

I picked up these floral pajama-style pants from Bloomingdale’s last week, just as they were starting their Valentine’s Day Sale (take 20% off your purchase). I’ve never rocked the pajamas-as-streetwear trend before, but these were the perfect pair to experiment with. They’re silky to the touch, and can be dressed down with a denim jacket or up with a pretty tie front blouse. If you end up getting these pants, prepare for all of the compliments.

Now that we’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day in our own slightly-crazy way, we’ll probably be laying low on Wednesday night. My ideal date: work out at the gym together and then grab takeout at a nearby health food joint. What’re your plans for the “big”/no-so-big day?

It’s so funny how long I dreaded the end of summer, but easily celebrated the arrival of fall once temperatures finally started to drop. I’m mostly excited that I finally get to wear all of the jackets that I bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale back in July. This faux leather jacket and this suede moto have been patiently waiting for 3+ months to make their debuts. Can I get a heck yes?!

How to Wear Suede for Fall

I don’t own much brown in my closet aside from cognac-colored accessories, but I love this jacket in the “spice” color (it also comes in black, purple, green, red and gray!). I’m still trying to figure out how else to style it, but a black t-shirt and white skinny jeans seemed like an easy bet. Did anyone else score this jacket during this year’s NSALE? I would love to see how you wear it!

As basic as this may sound, I’ve always wanted to go apple picking. Not because I have some grand plans to bake an apple pie or anything, but because it just seems so quintessentially fall (right up there with visiting the pumpkin patch and really, pumpkin spiced everything). So when my friends at Koolaburra invited me on an adventure over the weekend, you know I said yes!

I got to pick out a pair of shoes to wear on the trip and I immediately fell in love with the Kenz bootie. You know I love a good neutral shoe (it also comes in black and a dusty rose), but the selling point for me was the block heel and the tassel detail. The icing on the cake: they’re incredibly comfortable and I could walk around all day in them!

Fall Outfit Inspiration: Chenille Sweater & Skinny Jeans

We went to Penning Orchard in Warwick, New York. It’s about an hour and forty-five drive from the city, located on a hill so it has the most gorgeous views. There’s also a cidery down the road where you can grab lunch and do an apple cider tasting. Truth be told, I spent more time taking photos than picking apples (whoops!), but I did end up filling up my bag with about a dozen different kinds of apples. So excited to finally check this of my bucket list and have my healthy afternoon snack for the next week. Thanks again to Koolaburra for a fabulous trip!
