Instead of getting straight back on the grind, I thought I’d start the week with a little romance. Gold foil, pink tulle, sparkly sequins … it’s definitely not your usual work wear. I might not be sophisticated enough to enjoy the ballet, but I certainly don’t mind dressing up like a ballerina. Well, the look was actually unintentional, but as soon as I donned outfit, I couldn’t help but feel like I was straight out of The Nutcracker … just slightly less graceful.

This week, I dabbled in a little bit of NYFW and attended the Leanne Marshall Spring/Summer 2014 show. It was the perfect opportunity to give another spring piece a last hurrah by mixing a little of girly with a little bit of grunge.

I’m obsessed with this pink tulle skirt and channeled Carrie Bradshaw the first time I wore it. With fall nipping at our heels, I paired the piece with one of the softest t-shirts I own. Darker accessories take this look from princess to punk.
