Fall Outfit Inspiration: Long Sleeve Floral Dress

Tropical florals for fall? Groundbreaking. But, seriously — you don’t find the words “tropical” and “fall” in the same sartorial sentence very often, let alone on a piece of clothing. So when I saw this burgundy floral dress at LOFT, I knew I had to have it.

How to Wear a Dress with Booties

I’m a big believer that you can never have too many floral prints in your wardrobe (although my husband might disagree), so I’m always looking for a different ways to wear it for every season. When I first saw this dress, I was attracted to the billowy sleeves and the burgundy color combo. It looked so perfectly fall that I didn’t even notice that the print was made out of tropical flowers. I love it paired with ankle booties, but when it gets cooler I think it would look amazing with some over-the-knee boots. P.S. If you love the print as much as I do, it’s also available in a blouse, sleeveless top, romper and scarf!

As basic as this may sound, I’ve always wanted to go apple picking. Not because I have some grand plans to bake an apple pie or anything, but because it just seems so quintessentially fall (right up there with visiting the pumpkin patch and really, pumpkin spiced everything). So when my friends at Koolaburra invited me on an adventure over the weekend, you know I said yes!

Apple Picking Outfit in New York

I got to pick out a pair of shoes to wear on the trip and I immediately fell in love with the Kenz bootie. You know I love a good neutral shoe (it also comes in black and a dusty rose), but the selling point for me was the block heel and the tassel detail. The icing on the cake: they’re incredibly comfortable and I could walk around all day in them!

We went to Penning Orchard in Warwick, New York. It’s about an hour and forty-five drive from the city, located on a hill so it has the most gorgeous views. There’s also a cidery down the road where you can grab lunch and do an apple cider tasting. Truth be told, I spent more time taking photos than picking apples (whoops!), but I did end up filling up my bag with about a dozen different kinds of apples. So excited to finally check this of my bucket list and have my healthy afternoon snack for the next week. Thanks again to Koolaburra for a fabulous trip!
