It’s time to finally start talking about Nice! James and I visited the French Riviera earlier this month and I finally got around to editing my photos and putting some of my thoughts together on our trip. I’m planning to share our whole itinerary and travel tips for you, but first things first: let’s talk about what to pack.

Summer Style / The Perfect Slipdress

As gorgeous and magical as the South of France is, it’s still very hot and humid there during this time of year. That’s why my wardrobe consisted most of dresses like this tie-front slip dress, this off the shoulder, and this Lilly Pulitzer beauty. Of course, another easy option would be to pack all your favorite rompers. I brought this pink polka dot number along with me and nearly spilled gelato all over it from the famous Fenocchio (whoops). I did pack t-shirts and shorts as an on-the-go option, but it is France after all. There’s something about the gorgeous plazas and secret alleyways of Old Nice that make you want to dress up just a bit.

Summer in Nice, France

One of my favorite things to do while we were there was wander the streets of Old Nice, where there are a ton of restaurants and shops. During most mornings, they also have a market called the Cours Saleya market. They sell anything from fresh produce, flowers, artwork and clothing. I ended up buying a handmade straw market tote (looks like this) for 25€ — one of my few, but cherished souvenirs!

Spring Trend / Floral Cold Shoulder Top

For me, I want to be anywhere near the beach and fast. Even though we had a relatively mild winter in NYC, I was completely over the cold by January. Since February, we’ve been able to escape to warmer every weekend and if you haven’t notice, I’ve pretty much given up on wearing any outfits that involve layers.

It’s starting to sporadically warm up around here (70° one day, 40° the next), but as spring becomes a little more stable, we’ll probably stay in the city for more weekends. But I can’t help but already be thinking about our next trip: Charleston or Cancún? Palm Beach or Punta Cana? Help me decide! Cute Summer Outfit / Red Gingham Dress

It’s hard to believe that I moved to New York four years ago. I remember in the first few weeks of moving here, every single subway ride would give me those “I can’t believe I live here” feelings. It took one year to finally feel at home, two years to feel like I knew what I was doing and three years to start feeling like a local. These days, the pinch me moments of living here are few and far between, but they surprise me every now and then – especially on days like yesterday, when I actually forgot that it was my anniversary! Another year in the books and I can’t wait to see what kind of adventures await next.
