Hair – Skirt The Rules | NYC Style Blogger http://skirttherulesblog.com NYC Style Blogger Fri, 13 Nov 2020 16:37:06 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 The History Behind My Hair Care Routine http://skirttherulesblog.com/2020/11/13/the-history-behind-my-hair-care-routine/ http://skirttherulesblog.com/2020/11/13/the-history-behind-my-hair-care-routine/#respond Fri, 13 Nov 2020 16:37:04 +0000 http://skirttherulesblog.com/?p=19947

Today, I’m partnering with Pantene to talk about my hair care journey!

My hair has always been a big part of my identity — even when I was a little girl! I remember I had really long hair when I was five years old and was devastated when it all got chopped off at the salon (who else knows the feeling when they take a little too much off?!). I also vividly remember digging through my mom’s hair care products when I was younger — looking back, I’m not surprised that they were all Pantene products!

Since then, my hair journey has been a lot of trial and error. I’ve highlighted my hair, accidentally dyed it orange and put it through years of abuse with hot styling tools. It wasn’t until the past few years that I really started focusing on hair care and doing everything I can to keep my hair healthy. If hair is a big part of who I am, it only makes sense to be as diligent about it as I am with my overall health and wellness.

Enter Pantene Nutrient Blends. I recently started using the Hair Volume Multiplier with Bamboo Shampoo and Conditioner because it’s free of silicone, parabens and dyes. It has a blend of vitamin B5, antioxidants and bamboo that breathes life (and nutrients!) back into my hair. I love how light, but full my hair feels — especially knowing that it isn’t weighed down by any yucky ingredients. If you’re interested in an extra boost, you can try the hair thickness multiplier leave-in treatment.

It’s definitely been a journey over the years, but I’m happy to report that my hair has never felt healthier than it does today. If you’re looking to inject new life into your hair care routine, I recommend giving Pantene’s Hair Volume Multiplier Shampoo and Conditioner a try — you can shop the full collection  at Target online, in store and via order pick up and order drive up!

How I Care For My Hair In Between Washes http://skirttherulesblog.com/2020/04/27/how-i-care-for-my-hair-in-between-washes/ http://skirttherulesblog.com/2020/04/27/how-i-care-for-my-hair-in-between-washes/#respond Mon, 27 Apr 2020 14:07:33 +0000 http://skirttherulesblog.com/?p=19136

Today, I’m partnering with Pantene to talk about hair care! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

On a typical week, I’ll usually wash my hair every other day. But when things get really busy, it might be closer to three to four days in between washes. With the help of Pantene’s Waterless Collection, I actually love how my hair looks after a few days. So, let’s get to it! Keep reading to see how I keep my hair feeling and looking fresh in between washes.

Day 1

After showering, I’ll let my hair air dry about 75% of the way before going in with a blow dryer. Once completely dry, the fun begins! I usually curl my hair with a 1” barrel – this way the curls start off pretty tight but will fall out nicely over the next couple of days. Once I’m done, I spray my curls with Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray to give it some texture – I find that my curls seem to hold a little longer when I do this!

Day 2

On the second day, I’d say my hair is still holding up nicely. My scalp doesn’t need too much attention yet, but I’ll start spritzing my curls (from the middle of my hair down to the ends) with Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist. This helps to tame the flyaways and gives my locks some added shine.

Day 3

By day three, my tight curls have turned into gorgeously soft waves – hello good hair day! At this point, I’ll start spraying my roots with dry shampoo. What I love about Pantene Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray is that it quickly absorbs any excess oil without leaving any of that white residue that you see with a lot of other dry shampoos.

Day 4

Honestly, I’ve never seen my dirty hair look so soft and shiny until I started to use my Pantene Waterless Collection products. The Never Tell Dry Shampoo Spray and Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist for the silky, smooth win!

The best part is that the Pantene Waterless Collection is free of parabens and sulfates and will help keep your hair feeling fresh and full of life in between washes. Pick it up now here!

Thank you Pantene for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

More Great Hair Days with Pantene http://skirttherulesblog.com/2019/03/27/more-great-hair-days-with-pantene/ http://skirttherulesblog.com/2019/03/27/more-great-hair-days-with-pantene/#comments Wed, 27 Mar 2019 14:50:06 +0000 http://skirttherulesblog.com/?p=17593

Thank you, Pantene for sponsoring this post – all opinions are my own!

Two weeks ago, Pantene invited me to take their Pantene 14 -Day Challenge to make more days a great hair day. And I have to say, I’m obsessed with the results!

A little background on my hair: in its most natural state, my hair is straight, flat and terrible at holding curls. There have been days where I spend 15-20 minutes curling my hair, only for it to be flat again the moment I step out the door – talk about a bad hair day! Not a great feeling.

For the challenge, I got to choose products that best suit my hair’s needs and Pantene’s Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner seemed like the perfect option for me.

Now, I’m pretty skeptical when it comes to product reviews with bold claims, but I was pleasantly surprised to notice a difference in my hair after just one use. My hair felt lighter and shinier!

After a full week of using both the shampoo and conditioner, my curls felt bouncier and they held longer (I’m rocking day-old curls in these photos). At one point, my three-day old curls looked just as fresh as day one (with a little help from Pantene’s dry shampoo!).

Yesterday marked a full two weeks since I started using Pantene’s Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, and great hair days are happening more and more often. I consider this challenge a major success, but fourteen days is just the beginning! I plan to continue to use the products and I can’t wait for more great hair days ahead!

Walmart has a great deal on this shampoo and conditioner here. You can also get your hands on a larger conditioner pump here!
