Date Night Outfit Ideas / Polka Dot Dress & Moto Jacket

Valentine’s Day is exactly one week away – do you know what your plans are?

Truth be told, we haven’t celebrated Valentine’s Day lately. A few years ago, James and I started a tradition where he would cook dinner for us on February 14 and then I would treat him to dinner the night to avoid the long waits and overpriced prix-fixe menus. It was a pretty good thing we had going on!

But over the past few years, we’ve kind of fallen out of the tradition – especially with V-Day landing in the middle of the week. Two years ago, I was traveling for work. Last year, I can’t even remember what we did, but I imagine we likely ordered delivery because we were too tired from the work week.

I’m not sure what we’ll do this year, but I’m hoping it’ll involve this outfit! I recently ordered this dress for $20 and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I’ve had a renewed obsession with polka dot lately and am currently going through a neutral phase, so this coffee-colored dress was right up my alley! I love it paired with my faux leather moto jacket to give it a little edge. Now all I need is a bit of a tan and I’m set – ha!

I love this long-sleeve floral dress so much. Yes, it’s perfect for Thanksgiving dinner with your family (or your in-laws!), but it’s also great for work, brunch, church – really any activity that doesn’t involve sitting on your couch in pajamas (unless you’re fancy like that). Black Floral Print Dress & Leopard Clutch

To me, floral print is a year-round thing. Case in point: this wildflower tie waist dress.

I don’t wear black very often, but I couldn’t help but gravitate toward this gorgeous dress with its bright bursts of color. It’s unlike any other floral print I have (and I own a lot!). It feels a bit dark and moody, which is perfect for fall, and the flowers are something you’d find out in a field. The real kicker is the tie waist detail. It’s a little hard to see in these photos, but thanks to the tie, you can add a bit of shape to the dress by cinching in your waist with a pretty little bow. I’m wearing a size 0 (regular) here and receive compliments every time I wear it! Highly recommend!
