Would you believe me if I told you the dress that I’m wearing is actually too small for me? Didn’t think so! Turns out, all you need is a safety pin and a little creativity to MacGyver’ your way into an outfit.

Summer Style Inspiration: White Lace Midi Dress

I fell in love with this gorgeous white lace dress as soon as I saw it on Chicwish. Sadly, when I tried it on, it was a little too tight around my rib cage and wouldn’t completely zip! I was a bit bummed, but I didn’t let it get me down. Not wanting to let a good dress go to waste, I knew I had to channel Tim Gunn vibes and … Make. It. Work. The zipper stopped around halfway up its length, but I noticed that when I held the top two-ends together, it actually looked like it was an open-back dress. So I clipped it with a safety pin and voila — you probably wouldn’t even notice the difference had I not told you. Have you ever had to use some creative magic to make an outfit work? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks!

Spring in NYC has been a little wonky this year, so believe me when I say that I’m ready for it.

The season didn’t start off so well for me. I spent three weeks in April feeling under the weather. While the rest of New York was outside brunching al fresco, I was quarantined to the couch and binge watching all of the Netflix shows. Then April showers decided to bring more May showers – ugh!

But now that Mother Nature and I are finally back at 100% (and 75°F temps), I’m pulling out all of the spring dresses, like this floral lace midi dress and this bell sleeve lace dress from earlier in the week. It’s been a long time coming and I’m going to soak up every second of spring!

There’s no such thing as too much lace, right? Because I’ve got another little white lace dress coming atcha today.

This lace bell sleeve dress was gifted to me by my friends at Chicwish. I’ve seen a lot of lace dresses and I’ve seen a lot of bell sleeve dresses, but never as a combo until now. It’s sophisticated, feminine and a little bit boho. Plus, the lace itself looks so intricate, it’s unlike any lace dress I own (and I have a lot, as evidenced here, here and here). Just a fair warning, the body of the dress is a little boxy, so you might want to belt the dress for a little more definition at the waist.
