How to Add Texture to a Simple Outfit

Jeans and a white tank – everyone has some version of this in their wardrobe. It’s obviously not the most original outfit, but there’s one easy way to turn this classic combo into something a little more elevated. It’s all about texture.

When I say “texture,” the first thing that might come to mind is faux fur or tweed, but it’s much more than something to keep your warm and cozy. Texture can add visual interest to an otherwise simple staple – think eyelet or lace tops or even ripped denim. As simple as these details are, when you layer them on, it’s much more interesting than a plain white tank or a pair of jeans. So even though we’re still very much in the dead of summer, think about how a little texture can add a whole lot of life to your outfit!
