I think dressing to your personal style is one of the most powerful ways to express yourself – whether it’s how you feel that particular day or how you’d like to present yourself to the world every day. Since I started my blog seven years ago, my own style has changed SO much. Back then, I was all about neon colors and polka dot prints. These days, I prefer a more neutral color palette (think pale pink, white, tan and all shades of blue) and more refined prints (stripes and florals forever!).
I’m a big believer in experimenting with your style, whether it be trying new trends or dabbling in details you never thought you could pull off. But the older I get, the more confident I feel in knowing what I like and what I look good in.
If you had to describe your personal style in three words, I would challenge yourself to describe it in how you want your personal style to make you feel. For me, my personal style makes me feel feminine, confident and comfortable. As weird as it sounds, it’s a great way to filter through all the clutter and really narrow down your wardrobe to things that make you feel good. Does this shirt make me feel confident? Does this dress make me feel comfortable? If your answers are no, then say goodbye!
