Is it me, or do the weeks go by so fast and the weekends even faster? Today, I’m trying to kickstart the next seven days with a little more intention.
On any given Monday, my work week starts with two cups of coffee and a quick catch up session with my co-workers before it’s straight into emails. It’s the same grind every damn time. Next thing I know, it’s Friday afternoon and I didn’t get half the things checked off my to do list – both in my work life and my personal life.
I’ve been getting in the habit of writing out a physical to do list every day (my boss got me this helpful notepad last Christmas – hint much?), but I’ve been thinking that I need something more. And I’m not just talking about the tactical day to day stuff. By having something a little bigger like a goal, then it not only gives you a more purpose and direction, but it can also be something to look forward to.
My goal for this week is to set aside some quiet time to be inspired. I write a lot in my 9-to-5 job then I come home and write more for my blog. So as you can guess, the burnout is real and it leaves me feeling unmotivated to put in the extra effort to get creative. I’m not sure what success looks – it might be flipping through some food for thought kind of articles or listening to a new podcast. Or maybe it’s just doing a “brain dump” of what’s in my head on to a piece of paper and see what comes out! I’m really excited to find some new inspiration out there (suggestions are welcome!).
A quick note about this outfit. I own this dress in navy, black and maroon from last fall and it’s back in a ton of pretty pastels for spring and summer. It’s the first dress for the office and on days where I need to save my mental energy on writing, an easy outfit is a must. I can’t recommend this dress enough, especially only at $46!
Lovely outfit! Blue really suits you!
