Memorial Day Weekend Essentials

There’s something so exciting about Memorial Day Weekend. It’s the unofficial start to summer and  everyone is full of so much energy, optimism and joy. We’re spending out holiday weekend in Seattle with close friends and their two little boys and I can’t wait to see them! Here are a few pieces that I’m loving for the long weekend (more thoughts after the jump).

• Is it me or is J.Crew killing the swimsuit game this season? I love the ruffle details on this striped bikini, although I have to admit, I’m having a huge moment with high waisted bikinis. I recently bought one in this floral number and also have my eye on this gingham print. P.S. A ton of summer styles are 30% off at J.Crew this weekend!
• Sandal season is here and I’m a firm believe that you can never have too many. I have this tan pair that pretty much goes with everything. I also brought this rose gold pair along me with to Australia and Cuba and I swear by them! They’re so comfy I’m going to pick them up in white and brown just good measure. Lastly, these scalloped strappy sandals are just too cute and add a fun detail to a summer staple.
• Of course, it wouldn’t be summer without a good beach bag. I love this blue ombre striped tote – the tassel is my favorite detail! This blush circle bag is a super cute splurge, but retailers like Ann Taylor, LOFT and Old Navy also make really affordable options. Case in point: this straw pom pom tote! If you’re looking more for an on-the-go travel bag, I have my eye on this whipstitch leather backpack. My co-worker has one and the detail on is so good! It looks pretty durable and probably the most chic backpack there ever was.
