Spring, is that you? While it’s still in the 40’s (°F) here in New York, today marks the first day of spring and that’s something worth celebrating!

Spring Fashion for Women / Floral Dress & Straw Bag

Spring is hands down my favorite season of the year. The city comes alive with activity and because so much of what we do in NYC revolves around being outside, so does my social life. I think it will be a few more weeks until we’re brunching al fresco again, but here are a few things that I’m looking forward to the most this season:

Wearing All The Spring Dresses

Sure, I’m twirling around in this gorgeous floral pleated dress and open-toe heels like it ain’t no thing, but what you don’t see is the puffer coat and sneakers that get thrown on before and after photos. With so many retailers rolling out their spring styles now, it basically torture not being able to wear them in NYC yet. I’m dying to pull the trigger on this deep plunge dress, this pretty pink eyelet dress and this white lace skater dress but just can’t justify it until it warms up!

Bike Rides and Running Along the River

During the winter, it’s easy to forget that I literally live one block from the East River. But during spring and summer, you can find me on runs with my dog up and down the walking path. There’s just something about being outside next to a fresh body of water (granted, the river is actually pretty gross) that’s super motivating. I also have a membership to the city’s bike share program, which means I can pick up a bike at one location and drop it off any of the hundreds of stations around the city. When my office was closer to my apartment, I used to bike to and from work all the time. Even though my work is in a different borough across the river, I’m making it my goal to bike home from work at least once when it gets warmer.

Being a Tourist in My Own City

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that we haven’t been spending many weekends here in the city. Mainly on the account of it being so damn cold. Already this year, I’ve traveled to Sydney, San DiegoCharleston, Havana and LA (the perks for working in the airline industry). And while we’ve stayed local for the past two weekends, we really haven’t ventured out beyond a ten-block radius, except to take blog photos or go grocery shopping. Lame, I know. Is anyone else about that winter hibernation life?
