Satin Ruffle Hem Romper (on sale for $46!) / Leopard Clutch (more affordable version here) / Layered Choker Necklace (on sale for $23 in rose gold) / Strappy Nude Heels (also available here) / Smashbox Lipstick in “Safe Word”
I know, here we go … For the past couple of years, I’ve rolled my eyes at all of the #NSale blog posts that bombard my feed around this time of summer. I always waited until the public access sale, mostly because I never saw anything that I loved enough to open a credit card. Sure, a few of the cute styles that I had my eye on sold out by the time I could make a purchase, but it wasn’t enough for me to sign up. Plus, I’m an old fashion kind of gal that gets weirded out by opening more cards. Anyone else feel that way?
Well, this year, after taking a peep at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalog, I finally convinced myself to open a credit card. It made sense for me — I actually do shop at Nordstrom a ton (it’s my third favorite retailer next to LOFT and Ann Taylor, duh), so I might as well get rewarded for it! Plus, I had my eye on a few fall staples I knew might sell out quickly — like this pair of tall suede boots, this super soft plaid shirt and this camel coat.
What surprised me about the sale is how much “wear now” styles they had this time around. I always think it’s
crazy funny how some bloggers deck out in completely fall gear (I’m talking fur vests, chunky sweaters and skinny jeans) — in the dead heat of summer! That’s dedication, for sure! As for me, I gravitated towards a bunch of pieces that I can style now or later. This satin romper is definitely a now piece. I love the faux wrap detail and the ruffle hem — it’s also super soft and will be perfect for the 2+ months of summer that we have here in New York.
So yes, you can expect a few weeks of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale content here on the blog, but I promise I’m not trying to shill out anything that I wouldn’t wear myself and I promise not to go too crazy on fall outfits — it’s just too damn hot for that!
