How to Wear OTK (Over the Knee) Boots for Fall

Lush long sleeve knit dress (only $46 and comes in two other prints!) / GiGi New York ‘All in One’ clutch (c/o) / BaubleBar ‘Mason’ pave ring (c/o) / Gorjana ‘Candice’ ring (c/o) / Stuart Weitzman ‘Lowland’ OTK boots (more affordable options here and here) / NARS satin lip pencil in ‘Rikugien’

Have you ever made a major purchase and then were too scared to use/wear what you bought? Hi, guilty.

How to Wear Over the Knee Boots for Fall

Say hello to my Stuart Weitzman Lowland OTK boots. I bought them last winter, but you haven’t seen them on the blog yet because I’ve been too scared to wear them outside. I know, that kind of defeats the whole purpose of investing in something so nice… but besides the fact that I was petrified of getting them dirty, I also wasn’t quite sure how to nail the over-the-knee boot trend – especially considering that I lean on the shorter side of the vertical spectrum.

Fall's Must Have Boot: Stuart Weitzman Lowland Over the Knee Boots

Turn out you can wear OTK boots with virtually anything. Over-the-knee boots are especially great when you’re transitioning in between seasons – you know, that magical period of time when you can still wear short dresses or skirts without tights. So I decided to dive right in by pairing my Lowlands with a long sleeve floral dress and a punchy tassel clutch. Fit wise, the boots run pretty high up my thigh (about 3+ inches above my knee), so I slouched them down a little bit so that you can see a little peak of skin. I love the fact that I can wear a dress, but still feel covered up enough during the fall. Don’t be surprised if this is my new favorite combo!

P.S. Are you into floral dresses for fall? You’re gonna love this one too.

Totally get it. I won a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots (so I didn’t even pay for them) and I was totally afraid to wear them outside for a while. Yours are amazing and love how they look with that dress!

  8. OTK boots are the ideal investment shoe for someone who lives in a cold climate! I have ones that are exact dupes of the Lowlands and loved them so much in the grey that I bought the black too haha and literally last year when we lived outside Chicago, I wore them at least 4 times a week. They really do keep you so warm!

Of all the ways to wear them though, I must say that paired with a long sleeve dress has always been my favorite. You’ve been featuring so many cute floral long sleeve dresses lately – I LOVE!

  9. I can totally relate. I invested in a Stella McCartney bag that I wanted for a few months and when it finally arrived it sat on my shelf for about a month because I was afraid to touch it, much less carry it outside!
